Abstract |
Table-top cavity optomechanical experiments represent a promising platform for testing quantum mechanics and its interplay with gravity. Here we present a scheme able to put stringent bounds on the non-relativistic limit of a class of deformed commutator approaches to quantum gravity. A first set of three different experiments performed a high sensitive optical measurement of the free evolution of an initially excited nanomechanical resonator in three different mass regimes. From the measurement of the corresponding nonlinear phase shift we have been able to improve by many orders of magnitude the bounds on commutator deformation parameters which characterize a wide class of approaches to quantum gravity. |
