Title

AGILE observation of GRBs
Coauthors On behalf of the AGILE Team

Abstract

AGILE is a space mission of the Italian Space Agency dedicated to gamma-ray and X-ray astrophysics lanched in 2007. AGILE has contributed to the observations of all the main characteristics of the gamma-ray emission following the heritage of EGRET, as the prompt and delayed/extended emission, and the possible multi spectral components. AGILE has localised about 1 GRB per month with the Super-AGILE imager (18--60 keV) in the Pointing mode phase (till Oct 2009) and a factor of 2-3 less in spinning mode (till now), while about 1 GRB per week with the MiniCalorimeter (0.3 -- 100 MeV) non-imaging detector. We will describe the status of AGILE observations of GRBs, with seven confirmed detection with the Gamma-Ray Imaging Detector (GRID; 30 MeV - 10 GeV) and the upper limits study of the non-detected ones. Moreover we will describe the AGILE activity for the new frontiers of GW counterparts search, started in 2016 with the participation to the LIGO O2 observation run. In particular we will describe the AGILE participation to the MW observational campaign for GW170817/GRB170817A.
