Title

Evolution of different Spectral States in Black Hole Binaries with TCAF
Coauthors Chakrabarti, Sandip K.

Abstract

Observational evidences show that during the outburst, black hole binaries move to different spectral states depending on accretion flow that feeds these objects. However proper physical picture is still unclear, what causes these states change and how the quasi periodic frequency (QPO) in observed lightcurve is related with the disk properties? In a Two Component Advective Flow (TCAF) solution it is established that low angular momentum and low viscous sub-Keplerian flow produces hot corona, which up-scatters soft photons from the Keplerian disk. We analyze several outbursts data of different black hole binaries from different satellites with TCAF and explain the outburst features.

Title

Spectral signature of jets around a black hole in presence of Compton cooling
Coauthors Chakrabarti, Sandip K.; Debnath, Dipak

Abstract

Observational evidences show that jets are common in many astrophysical systems. However, the origin and acceleration of jets are still a long term unsolved problem. According to two component advective flow (TCAF) solution, centrifugal pressure supported inner hot region of the flow, with or without shocks, behaves as the base of the jet. This region also up-scatters the soft photons through inverse Comptonization process. Thus it is easier to cool this region and change the spectral properties. Our goal is to show the spectral softening of the emergent spectra due to mass outflow, when cooling is taken into account. We also aim to study the spectral behavior, when jet itself behaves as a Comptonizing medium. We apply this accretion-ejection solution for outbursting black hole candidates to estimate their possible mass outflow during the outburst cycle.
