Title

Black holes with synchronised hair: connecting Kerr black holes with Bose-Einstein condensates
Coauthors

Abstract

Over the last few years it has been found that new classes of asymptotically flat black hole solutions, regular on and outside the event horizon, bifurcating from the vacuum Kerr solution, exist in General Relativity, with simple matter contents that obey all energy conditions, namely Kerr black holes with synchronised scalar hair and Proca hair. In this talk I will describe the general mechanism that allows the new solutions to exist, intimately connected to superradiance, how these solutions circumvent well known no-hair theorems and their connection to Bose-Einstein condensates that have been suggested as dark matter candidates. I will also discuss a dynamical formation mechanism for these black holes and their stability.
