Konus-Wind and IPN observations of gravitational wave sources

Abstract

Konus-Wind (KW) observes the whole sky, full-time, and detects almost all bright transient events in the 20 keV - 15 MeV band, including short GRBs. KW is a key vertex of the InterPlanetary Network (IPN) which provides accurate burst localizations by timing the arrival of a burst at several spacecraft. We present a contribution of the IPN and KW to the search for electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave sources. In particular we discuss the KW sensitivity and IPN localization accuracy for short GRBs.
