Talk Title

The role of the extra dimensional scale factor in the observable universe

Abstract

We present some new results obtained from the inception of an extradimensional scale factor in the well known FRW metric. We apply to this metric the Wesson’s Induced Matter Model, which establishes that 4D field equations with gravitational sources can be locally embedded in 5D field equations without sources. In the present work we focus on a more accurate analysis of a possible extradimensional scale factor and its role in different cases of the field equations (with and without cosmological constant). Our results are consistent with a recent period of cosmic acceleration and may point to a solution of the cosmological constant problem.
