Study of thick accretion disks with viscosity in Schwarzschild spacetime

Abstract

In this talk we focus on studying thick accretion disks, commonly known as Polish doughnuts, in presence of dissipative effects generated as a consequence of differential rotation of the fluid within the disk around a given black hole. Starting with Schwarzschild geometry, we concentrate particularly on influences of shear viscosity in the disk neglecting small generation of heat flux as well as bulk viscosity as the fluid slowly accretes. We therefore aim to study quasi-stationary solutions using causal Navier-Stokes equation motivated by Israel-Stewart-Muller formalism and investigate the existence of integrability conditions that culminate in a generalization of the Von-Zeipel theorem, valid specifically for disks modeled by perfect fluid. Finally, our analysis is employed for determining the shape of the thick disk in presence of shear viscous effects.
