Full relativistic strong solution of a 1D working surface

Abstract

In the present work we describe an analytical model of a working surface created from an initial discontinuity generated by a variable injection velocity within a relativistic astrophysical jet. An analytical solution is found for the working surface (two moving shock waves, separated by a contact surface), within a flow in one dimension, for the case of a strong relativist shock. The working surface is generated by an injection of material at variable speed at the base of a relativistic jet. Assuming that the thermal energy inside the working surface is fully radiated by some efficient process, it is also calculated the power or mechanical luminosity that this phenomenon would generate. In addition, a light curve strictly emitted by the working surface is by the hydrodynamic conditions of the jet and the surrounding external medium.
