Latest IceCube Results in Neutrino Astronomy and Future Perspectives

Abstract

Embedded in the glacier at the South Pole, the IceCube Neutrino Observatory uses one cubic kilometer of instrumented ice to detect neutrinos. IceCube has discovered a diffuse flux of astrophysical neutrinos that is observed to extend to energies beyond a PeV, but its origins remain unknown. In this talk, I will review recent results characterizing this flux, searches to identify its sources, and an outlook on future prospects.
