The Validity of the Rubber Sheet as an Analogy of Curved Space in General Relativity |

Abstract |
In this presentation, we examine the validity of the analogy of rubber sheet for curved space through the comparison of two surface equations. The Poisson equation and variation method were used for the comparison. The misconceptions of the students from the rubber sheet analogy and possible demonstration were also introduced for the instruction in the class. |
