On photospheric emission in GRBs |

Abstract |
Photosphere emission likely contributes to the observed gamma-ray emission in at least some GRBs. I will present the arguments both in favor of and against the photosphere emission as the dominant emission component in GRBs. I will then argue that the GRB jet composition is diverse among GRBs. Photosphere emission is the dominating emission component in matter-dominated fireballs, but is suppressed in jets that are Poynting-flux-dominated. |
