Lie Point Symmetries Of The Geodesic Equations Of The Gödels Metric |
Abstract |
Lie point symmetries of the geodesic equations of the Gödels metric are found. These form a ten-dimensional Lie algebra which appears to be direct sum of sl(1,3) and a four-dimensional radical part. The Lie algebra contains a maximal seven-dimensional solvable sub-algebra. It also contains five dimensional subalgebra of isometries of the metric. These are then used to reduce the order of the geodesic system by one. The time-like trajectories in the Gödels metric are derived followed by their graphs in the (r, φ) plane. |
