Gravitational Waves in Modified Teleparallel Theories

Abstract

Teleparallel Gravity offers the analogous possibility that gravity is expressed through torsion rather than curvature. While the theory can be constructed to reproduce general relativity at the level of equations, a number of extended theories have been proposed in recent years. Some of these include f(T), f(T,B), f(T,T_G) where torsion is characterized by the torsion scalar, T, which is related to the Ricci scalar by means of a total divergence quantity, B, and T_G represents the teleparallel Gauss-Bonnet contribution. We investigate gravitational waves and their properties in these settings with an eye to polarization contributions.
