Talk Title

Cosmological Bounce in f(R) Gravity Theories

Abstract

In metric f(R) gravity theories one can have a cosmological bounce in the Jordan frame with flat FLRW spacetime, in vacuum or in presence of matter. The agent which induces such bounce is the curvature energy-density and curvature induced pressure, both of which can be negative. Most of the forms of f(R) bounce are unstable and the talk will show the instabilities in various cases. The talk will concentrate on a particular exponential gravity model which does not have instabilities. The talk will unravel the properties of bounce in an exponential gravity model.
