Discretisation Ambiguities in (Loop) Quantum Gravity

Abstract

During the programme of canonical quantisation different ambiguities arise. We will put special focus to the origin of "discretisation ambiguities". That their effect is non-trivial will be demonstrated by an example: In Robertson-Walker cosmology the effective Hamiltonian of two proposed regularisations in Loop Quantum Gravity predict the resolution of the initial singularity by a Big Bounce. However, the details of this Bounce are vastly different in both proposals. Hence, we will finally present a framework for Hamiltonian Renormalisation, directly aimed at solving these ambiguities.
